CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball is excited to announce the signing of Kaia Henderson for the 2025-26 season.
Henderson, a 5-6 transfer from Utica, N.Y., spent three seasons at Ohio State, where the Buckeyes boasted 80 wins, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and an appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight in 2022-23.
"Kaia is a dynamic point guard with exceptional court vision, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor," said head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee. "She has a great feel for when to facilitate, when to score, and takes pride in her defense. We're excited to welcome Kaia to The Heights and can't wait to see the impact she'll make."
Henderson appeared in 26 games for the Buckeyes in two seasons before redshirting last season. The incoming Eagles played for New Hartford High School, where she owns the all-time scoring record with 2,092 points, while she is second across Central New York behind WNBA star, Breanna Stewart.
Henderson has her own podcast "competitHER", which focuses on empowering women in sports. She enjoys using her platform to inspire younger athletes and advocate for mental health, equity in athletics, and representation of women in the media. She also volunteered at the Huckleberry House, a youth crisis shelter in Columbus, and has remained active in community outreach initiatives.
Henderson will pursue her master's degree in sports administration. She earned her communications degree at OSU in just three years.
Born on June 17, 2014, she is the daughter of Aurelius Henderson and Kristen Truitt and has four siblings.
