June 02, 2025 | Lacrosse
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse players Rachel Clark and Shea Dolce were named finalists for the 2025 Honda Sport Award for Lacrosse on Monday.Â
The Honda Sport Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 49 years, recognizing the top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports and symbolizing "the best of the best in collegiate athletics." The recipient of the sport award will become a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the 2025 Honda Cup, which will be presented during the live broadcast of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Presented by Honda on June 30, at 7 pm ET, on CBS Sports Network.
Clark turned in historical numbers with 128 points, a BC single-season record 106 goals and 22 assists. She led the ACC and ranked second in the country in goals and points. Clark finished two points shy of breaking the single-season points record held by Apuzzo at 129.Â
She averaged a league-leading 5.82 points and 4.82 goals per game, good for seventh and first, respectively in the nation. Clark was named the ACC Attacker of the Year and a unanimous First-Team All-American.Â
In just two seasons with BC, Clark finished 11th all-time in points and seventh all-time in goals. Out of career 44 games with the Eagles, she totaled 37 hat tricks and 30 games with at least five points.
Clark finished the season first among active leaders with 311 goals and third with 380 points and helped BC last season capture a second national title, a second straight ACC championship, and an overall record of 39-5.Â
Dolce showed why she was the best goalie in the country, leading the nation with a .550 save percentage and 203 saves. Her 7.85 goals-against average was second in the country as well.
Dolce led the ACC in save percentage and saves en route to being named the ACC Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight season. She led the league with 12 games of 10 or more stops, in minutes and had the highest save percentage in the league since the 2018 season.
A unanimous First-Team All-American, Dolce was named the IWLCA Goalkeeper of the Year. She is third all-time with 496 saves and was one of two players in school history to reach 200-plus saves in a season.
In three years, Dolce has won two ACC titles, a national championship, the Tewaaraton Award, ACC Goalkeeper of the Year (twice), ACC Tournament MVP, and is an All-American with a 54-9 record in the cage.
