
Field Set for 2025 Shriners Children's Charleston Classic

BC will play in the MTE held Nov. 21 & 23 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –  Boston College is set to compete in the 2025 Shriners Children's Charleston Classic, it was announced today by ESPN Events.  Now in its 17th season, this year's tournament will be held Nov. 21 & 23 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. and will feature two independent brackets.
BC's bracket will feature Davidson, Tulane, and Utah State. Â Matchups, tip-off times, and ESPN network designations will be announced at a later date.
"We are really excited to be a part of the Charleston Classic. It's always good to get an early season challenge for our team in a tournament setting," said head coach Earl Grant. "We really look forward to this opportunity to compete as we pursue greater Heights."
The field: Â Davidson (Atlantic 10) will be making its fifth appearance in the Charleston Classic, which will tie Clemson for the most appearances by any school. Â Tulane (AAC) concluded the 2024-25 regular season with a 19-15 overall record and 12-6 in the American. Â Utah State (Mountain West) finished the season with a 26-8 record and earned an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a No. 10 seed.
Boston College has had recent success in MTE play. Â Last season, the Eagles captured the team title at the Cayman Islands Classic. Â In 2018, BC won the inaugural Fort Myers Tip Off Classic.
This marks the Eagles' second-ever appearance in the Charleston Classic. Â BC played in the 2012 MTE, facing Baylor, Dayton, and the College of Charleston. Â While serving as head coach at CofC, Grant's Cougars team appeared in the 2016 Charleston Classic, taking on Boise State, UCF, and Wake Forest.
Clemson, Georgia, West Virginia, and Xavier will compete in the other bracket at TD Arena.
