BC returns this weekend for a three-game series vs. Louisville
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Boston College Softball (17-19, 3-9 ACC) fell to crosstown rival Boston University by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Harrington Athletics Village in the 48th Battle of Commonwealth Avenue.Â
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first, thanks to a sacrifice fly from Hannah Slike that scored Emma Jackson. BC held that lead until the top of the fifth inning, when the Terriers got on the board with an RBI double.Â
In the top of the seventh, the visitors took the lead for the first time in the game thanks to a solo home run over the center field wall, making things 2-1. BC was unable to answer in the bottom of the inning, giving the Terriers the victory.
Kelly Colleran dealt seven complete innings, tossing six strikeouts, while giving up two earned runs. This is her sixth complete game this season.
On deck: The Eagles host the University of Louisville this weekend in a three-game series of ACC play, with BC's annual Strike Out Cancer game scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. All three games will be streamed live on the ACC Network Extra.
