Eagles Take Game One, Drop Game Two to Louisville

BC will return tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. for the final game of the series
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Boston College Softball (18-20, 4-10 ACC) took one of two games against Louisville on Friday afternoon at the Harrington Athletics Village, winning game one by a score of 3-1 and dropping game two 5-2.Â
GAME 1Â
The Eagles got on the board in the first inning thanks to a wild pitch that scored Emma Jackson. BC held the lead until the top of the fourth when the Cardinals scored their first run on an RBI triple.Â
In the bottom of the fifth, Zoe Hines scored Gator Robinson with a bunt to put the Eagles up 2-1. Later in the inning, Adriana Martinez hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Jordan Stephens to extend the lead to 3-1.
BC would hold onto the lead for the rest of the game, taking game one of the series, improving to 18-19 and 4-9 in the conference
GAME 2
The Eagles once again got out to an early lead, going up 1-0 in the top of the first thanks to a Gator Robinson home run, her second of the season. The score would remain until the top of the fifth, when the visitors scored three runs to take their first lead of the day.Â
The Cardinals added on in the top of the seventh thanks to a two-run RBI, making the score 5-1. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Abby Ptak launched her first career home run, but it was too little too late, as BC fell to Louisville 5-2, making them 18-20 overall and 4-10 in the conference.
On deck: The Eagles return to action tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. for the final game of the series. The game will be streamed live on the ACC Network Extra.
