Lights Out Pitching Paces Eagles to 12-2 Win at Dartmouth

Five Eagles delivered multiple RBIs in second straight win for BC
The Eagles opened the scoring in the opening frame. Patrick Roche walked and stole second to lead off the game, and Jack Toomey brought him home on an RBI double down the left-field line. Toomey stole third, and Adam Magpoc delivered another RBI double, this time down the right-field line. Vince Cimini singled to bring him home and put BC up 3-0 after one.
To start the fourth, Roche walked for the third time, and after he reached third, Kyle Wolff made it 4-0 on a sacrifice fly to deep center. The rally continued as the Eagles loaded the bases, and Sam McNulty came through with a two-run knock back up the middle to make it 6-0. Colin Larson added one on an RBI single, and McNulty came across on a failed pickoff attempt to give the Eagles an eight-run lead after four.
Brady Miller got the start for BC and turned in three perfect innings out of the gate, striking out three with no hits or walks issued while facing the minimum. Gavin Soares picked up where he left off in the fourth, striking out one while working a 1-2-3 frame. Soares preserved the perfect game through the fifth, striking out two while facing the minimum over his two-inning appearance.Â
The Eagles' offense followed up the five-spot in the fourth with three more in the fifth to go up 11-0. After Roche and Josiah Ragsdale walked, Jack Toomey lined his second RBI double of the day to the right-field wall. Kyle Wolff plated Ragsdale on a one-run single, and Adam Magpoc finished the frame with a sacrifice fly.
Dartmouth brought two across in their half of the seventh to make it 11-2, but Vince Cimini made it a ten-run game once again in the eighth with a sacrifice fly. Leading 12-2, Karl Meyer came in to pitch and hung a zero, ending the game after eight innings. Brady Miller earned the win (2-1) for BC.Â
Next up for Boston College is a home series against Notre Dame starting this Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Harrington Athletics Village.
