BC Drops Game Three to Syracuse

The Eagles will travel to Storrs, Conn. to face UConn on Tuesday
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Boston College Softball (21-26, 5-16 ACC) dropped game three of the series to the Syracuse Orange (27-19, 6-15 ACC) by a score of 5-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Skytop Softball Stadium.Â
Both teams were scoreless through the first two innings, before the hosts got on the board in the bottom of the third inning behind an RBI double, and would add two more runs on a pair of RBI singles to make things 3-0.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Orange tacked on two more runs behind an RBI double and a throwing error, making the score 5-0. In the top of the sixth inning, Janis Espinoza hit an infield fly ball that dropped next to the circle, driving in Jordan Stephens to narrow the gap to four runs. The Eagles were unable to mount a comeback in the top of the seventh, giving the hosts the 5-1 victory.
On deck: BC returns to action on Tuesday night as they take on UConn in Storrs, Conn.
