
Back in the "Ship: Eagles Outlast Cardinal to Earn Berth in ACC title

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Boston College lacrosse earned a fourth straight trip to the ACC championship with a 16-9 win over Stanford in the semifinals on Friday evening at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
The Eagles will face No. 1 North Carolina in the title game at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
Once again the Eagles used a strong second quarter, breaking a 3-3 tie after the first, outscoring the Cardinal 6-1 in the frame thanks to a pair of 3-0 runs.Â
Emma LoPinto ended the half with two straight goals, including a score just before time ran out to give BC a 9-4 advantage.Â
Stanford cut the lead to three late in the third period before Devon Russell started a string of three straight goals to give BC a 14-8 lead at the end of the third. Mia Mascone assisted on four of the five goals in the quarter.Â
The Cardinal scored just once more early in the fourth, with BC tacking on two more goals to pull away for the win.Â
LoPinto led the way with six goals, one assist and seven points, scoring three times in each half. Rachel Clark scored four goals, while Mckenna Davis finished with four points. Mascone tied a career best with six points on five helpers and one score.Â
Shea Dolce registered a third straight game with 10 saves and three ground balls, while Morgan Smith also tallied three ground balls. Shea Baker totaled six draw controls with two caused turnovers, and Kaitlyn Cole also had a pair of CTs. Kylee Colbert scored a goal with two caused turnovers and a DC.Â

- Davis became one of four players in school history to reach the 300-point milestone.Â
- Clark is now fourth all-time in a single season with 89 goals and counting, while her 109 points is seventh in a single season.
- LoPinto is three points away from 100 for the season.Â
