Heavy Rains Cancel Final Round of Puerto Rico Shootout

Eagles Tie for Third as a team; Cynthia Zhang finishes tied for fourth (-2)
HUMACAO, P.R. -- Heavy rains cancelled the third and final round of the Puerto Rico Shootout. As a result, Boston College finished tied for third overall, with a total team score of 586.  The Eagles opened with a team score of 295 and improved by four strokes in round two, carding a 3-over 291 as a team.  BC finished eight shots off team champion UNC Greensboro.
Cynthia Zhang was the top finisher for Boston College, finishing at 2-under through two rounds of play at the Puerto Rico Shootout.  Zhang carded her second straight 71 on the scorecard on Wednesday. Zhang, who tied for fourth place overall (143), posted three birdies and 13 pars during Wednesday's second round. She was first overall in the field on par 3's (2.75 avg., -2) and second on par 4 holes (4.00 avg, E).
During the second round, Angel Lin posted the best round of the tournament so far for the Eagles - a 2-under 70. Â Lin made four birdies on the day and finished in a tie for 10th place (76-70=146).
Stephany Kim tied for 19th place (148) . After an opening round 73, Kim carded a second day 75 and was tied for second in the field in par 4 scoring (4.00 avg., E). Frances Kim tied for 37th place (76-75=151), improving on her opening round 76 by a stroke during Wednesday's round.  Emily Böhrer tied for 40th place (75-77=152), while Ana Lucia Trevino, competing as an individual, tied for 47th place (76-77=153).
As a team, BC tied for second in the field for par 3 scoring (3.10 avg; +4) and par 4 scoring (4.17 avg, +17) and was fifth in par 5 scoring (4.95 avg, -2). The Eagles had 24 birdies and 115 pars through the 36 holes.
