
Women’s Hockey Drops Double Overtime Contest to Boston University, 3-2

BOSTON –The Boston College Eagles fell to Boston University, 2-3 in double overtime on Wednesday evening at Walter Brown Arena.
The Eagles took a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Lauren Glaser took it from the blue line and was able to sneak it by the BU goalie. The Eagles held on to the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second frame, BU found the back of the net two minutes in. The Terriers found the back of the net shortly after, but BC challenged the goal and it was called off due to offsides. The game remained tied at 1-1. Katie Pyne gave BC the 2-1 lead late in the period as both teams headed into the final intermission.
Boston University tied the game up five minutes into the third period. Neither side could find the back of the net, forcing the game to overtime.
During the first overtime, BU had eight shots on goal while BC had seven. After the first 20 minutes, the two sides remained deadlocked at 2-2, forcing a second overtime. In the second overtime, BU broke the tie to give the Terriers a 3-2 victory.
