Eagles Drop Series Finale to Pitt, 6-2

BC will play two games on the ACC Network this week
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Boston College Softball (15-15, 3-9 ACC) dropped the final game of a three-game series vs. the University of Pittsburgh (12-20, 2-10 ACC) by a score of 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Harrington Athletics Village.Â
The Panthers got on the board in the top of the first thanks to an RBI single, making things 1-0. Jordan Stephens tied things up in the bottom of the third with her sixth home run of the season, sending a solo shot over the left field wall. Pitt would respond in the top of the fourth with another RBI single, which was followed up by Adriana Martinez drawing a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at two a piece. The score remained 2-2 through seven innings, sending the game to extra innings.Â
In the top of the eighth, the Panthers scored four runs on four hits and two errors, and the Eagles were unable to respond in the bottom of the inning, giving Pitt the victory.Â
On deck: The Eagles host UConn on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and UMass on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on the ACC Network.
