
BC Falls to Providence 7-4 in Midweek Clash

The Eagles will return to Rhode Island tomorrow for a showdown at Bryant
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Boston College softball (10-12) fell to the Providence College Friars (7-16) by a score of 7-4 on Tuesday evening at the Brown softball field.Â
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first after Gator Robinson swiped second base and was driven in by an RBI double from Hannah Slike. The Friars answered in the bottom of the inning with a run of their own to make it 1-1. BC added another in the top of the second, after Robinson once again stole second and Slike knocked her in with another RBI double. Providence took the lead in the bottom of the inning behind a Gabriella Sebastian two-run home run.Â
BC retook the lead in the top of the third thanks to a Maycee Hilt two-run single that scored Zoe Hines and Janis Espinoza, however the Friars would once again regain the lead in the bottom after another two-run shot. PC added another run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 6-4 and extended the lead in the sixth, winning the game 7-4. The Eagles had a season-high six stolen bases.
On deck: BC heads back to Rhode Island tomorrow as they take on Bryant University at 4:00 p.m. in Smithfield.
