Eagles Finish 11th in Spring Opener at Palmas del Mar Collegiate

Ben Hong led BC at 3-under, tying for 15th place
HUMACAO, P.R. -- Boston College concluded play at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate with an 11th place finish in the first tournament of the 2025 spring season.
As a team, the Eagles finished at 13-over for the 54-hole tournament, registering single round scores of 289-300-288, for a total score of 877. BC registered a 1-over par total of 289 during the opening day of play on Sunday and closed at even-par during Tuesday's final round.
Ben Hong led BC, tying for 15th place, with a 2-under score of 214. After a 4-under par opening day 68, Hong carded 1-over scores of 73 in each of the two following rounds. thanks to five birdies and 12 pars.
Markus Lam tied for 28th place, registering a 1-over par 217 for the tournament. Lam was even-par in both the first and final rounds, sandwiched by a 1-over 73 on Monday. Brian Xu closed out competition with his best round - a 1-under 71 - on Tuesday. He finished with a total score of 226 (76-79-71). Christian Emmerich was two shots back of Xu, finishing 71st with a total score of 228 (78-78-72), including an even-par round on the final day of play.
Tommy Mangan, competing as an individual, also finished strong - with an even-par 72 - tying Emmerich in 71st (79-77-72=228). Jack Pogorelc finished in 76th place (73-76-82=232).
BC returns to action on March 9-11 at the Bandon Dunes Championship, held at Bandon Dunes in Oregon.
