
Eagles Grab Top Five Finish at Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational

CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 30-ranked Boston College Women's Cross Country team finished fifth overall with 165 points at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational to kick off the season.
Of the eighth nationally ranked teams competing in the 6k championship race, the Eagles finished fourth-highest, beating out No. 7 Providence, No. 18 North Carolina, No. 21 Wisconsin, and No. 29 Minnesota.
Four of Boston College's scoring runners also set personal bests in the race, led by Imogen Gardiner, who covered the 6k racecourse in a 20:07.1 to finish 16th. The Sydney, Australia native crushed her previous personal best by just over 37 seconds, which she set at last year's Pre-National meet in Wisconsin.
Finishing close behind was Kyra Holland, who crossed the line at 20:19.6 in 27th place for her first race with the Eagles and broke her personal best by nearly 44 seconds.
Next to finish as Ella Fadil, who ran a personal best time of 20:21.5 to finish 30th in the race, while Molly FitzPatrick finished five seconds after (20:26.7) to finish 32nd and log a new 6k-best time.
Rounding out the scorers was Abby Lewis, who completed the 6k course in 21:06.9 for 69th.
Following the top five runners for Boston College were Elizabeth Barlow (21:14.9) in 79th, Iris Bergman (21:27.4) in 83rd with a new personal best, and Natalie Millerova (21:27.18) in 90th.
Next on the schedule is the Pre-National Meet, hosted by the University of Missouri on Friday, October 17.
