Two-time defending Hockey East regular-season champs start their title defense on Thursday
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 11/10 Boston College opens its Hockey East slate this weekend with a home-and-home series against Northeastern. The series begins Thursday at Kelley Rink before squaring off at Matthews Arena on Friday night. Both games are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop on ESPN+ along with a radio broadcast on WEEI 850 AM. Additionally, Friday's game will also be available regionally on NESN.
SETTING THE SCENE
• The Eagles fell to 2-2-1 after dropping its lone game of the week to Denver
• Northeastern is currently 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Hockey East
• Boston College sits at No. 11 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 10 in the USA Hockey poll
• Northeastern is receiving votes in both national polls
DEFEAT TO DENVER
• BC played just one game this past weekend, falling to No. 7 Denver 7-3
• Andre Gasseau, James Hagens, and Jake Sondreal each scored for the Eagles
• Hagens pushed his point streak to five games
• Sondreal scored for the second-straight game
• Dean Letourneau recorded an assist, extending his point streak to four games
• Aram Minnetian tallied his first point of the year with an assist

• J. Hagens leads the team in points (6) and goals (3), and is tied for the team-lead in assists with three

• The Huskies are coming off a 1-0 victory over No. 7 Denver in their lone game last weekend
• NU is 1-0-0 in league play after defeating UMass, 4-2
• Joe Connor, Tyler Fukakusa, and Dylan Hryckowian lead the team in points with three each
• Connor has team-high three goals
• Lawton Zacher has started all four games for the Huskies and has a .930 save percentage along with a 2.02 goals against average
• Northeastern had two Hockey East weekly award winners this past week with Zacher being named the Goaltender of the Week along and Amine Hajibi earning Rookie of the Week honors

• The two teams met four times last season with each winning two games
