October 25, 2025 | Women's Hockey
Sophomore forward records first multi-goal game as BC rallies for 2-1 road win.
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — Powered by a two-goal effort from sophomore Sage Babey, the Boston College women's hockey team earned a 2-1 victory over Merrimack on Saturday at Lawler Rink.
Merrimack struck first at 15:24 of the opening period, but the Eagles answered less than three minutes later. Babey buried the equalizer at 17:45, finishing a setup from Alanna Devlin and Kiera Dempsey to knot the score at 1-1.
The sophomore winger struck again midway through the second, scoring her second goal of the game at 8:34 off an assist from Ava Thomas. That tally stood as the game-winner, marking Babey's first career multi-goal outing.
From there, Boston College controlled play on both ends of the ice. Grace Campbell backstopped the Eagles with 19 saves, turning away all 13 shots she faced over the final two periods. Offensively, BC fired 44 shots on net and dominated the faceoff circle, winning 37 of 57 draws. Thomas was a perfect 13-for-13 on faceoffs while also adding her team-leading eighth assist of the season.
The Eagles successfully killed off both Merrimack power plays and generated 10 shots across four opportunities on the man advantage, though they were unable to convert.
With the win, Boston College improves to 4-4-0 (3-0-0 Hockey East) on the year.
