October 02, 2025 | Women's Cross Country
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Boston College Women's Cross Country Team begins the 2025 season with the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational Invite on Friday, October 3.
The 46th annual event will take place along the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, overlooking Lake Michigan. The Tom Cooney Women's 6k Championship Race is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. EST, comprised of three loops across the race course. It is Boston College's first time competing in the event.
The field consists of 16 Division I teams, half of which are nationally ranked, and two that are in the top 10 (No. 2 N.C. State and No. 7 Providence). The Eagles enter Friday's race as the No. 30-ranked team in the NCAA and No. 2 in the Northeast Region.
"Really looking forward to opening up our season on Friday," said Head Coach & Director Pete Watson about the cross-country season opener. "This will be a very competitive field to race against in our first competition, and we are excited to see where we are at this stage of the year."
