Eagles Conclude Play at ITA New England Regional Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's tennis team participated in the ITA New England Regional Championships hosted by Yale this past weekend.

Lukas Rais and Mai Gao led the way for the Eagles, competing in the semifinals in doubles competition. The duo opened play defeating Boston University competitors, 8-6. The Eagle duo then took on competitors from Brown, defeating them in a 9-8 (8) match in the round of 64. The duo then recorded a victory over Harvard's No.3 seed, 9-8 (8) in the round of 32 to qualify for Quarterfinals. Gao and Rais continued their fight as they recorded an 8-3 victory over Buffalo pair to move onto the Semifinals. The pair fell to Eric Li and Ethan Chung of Yale, 6-2, 6-4.

Liam O'Leary and Matvey Greschner were close behind, making it to the Quarterfinals after a strong run through Regionals. The duo opened play as they defeated Binghamton duo 8-4 in the round of 64. Moving on, the Eagle pair recorded a victory over a Brown duo, 8-5 in the round of 32, earning them a spot in the Quarterfinals. The duo fought a hard fight against Cornell's Felipe Pinzon and Petar Teodorovic, but fell 8-2 in Quarterfinals.
