Cardinal Best Eagles in Overtime

Stanford, Calif. - Boston College (4-8, 0-5 ACC) lost 2-1 to Stanford (5-7, 2-4 ACC) on Sunday afternoon to conclude their west coast ACC trip.
Stanford did not wait to defend their home turf, scoring in under two minutes to take an early lead.
In the second period, BC was awarded three corner opportunities that were all blocked by the Cardinal defense to keep the score at 1-0. Defense continued to be the story for both sides through the third as the score stayed the same.
The Eagles waited till the final minute of regulation to tie up the game. Mia Garber rerouted an assist from Laila Rosenquest off a corner for a BC goal to send the game to overtime for the second time this weekend.
Boston College started with a shot attempt in the first few seconds of the overtime period that was saved by Cardinal goalie. Stanford would take the ball back down the field and score to win the game 2-1.
The Eagles led the game in shots (15-5), shots on goal (6-4) and corners (5-0) while Stanford had more saves (5-3).

The Eagles start their end of season home stretch with Duke on Oct.17 at 6:30 in Newton. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network. BC will conclude their regular season play at home hosting UNH for the annual MS Awareness game on Oct.19 followed by Syracuse and Louisville the next weekend.
