
Three Eagles Named Hobey Baker Award Nominees

Jacob Fowler, Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault were named on the initial list
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Sophomores Jacob Fowler, Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault were named Hobey Baker Award nominees, as announced by the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation on Wednesday morning.

The Hobey Baker Award is presented annually to the top player in Division I men's ice hockey.

Fowler, also on the Mike Richter Award Watch List, boasts a 15-3-1 record this season. The Florida native currently has a 1.70 goals against average, a .934 save percentage and five shutouts. He leads Hockey East and is seventh nationally in save percentage, and is second in the league in GAA which is good for fifth in the nation.

Leonard is tied for first nationally in game-winning goals with six, which leads Hockey East. He is tied for first in the league and tied for third in the nation in goals with 15. Five of his six GWG have come against nationally ranked opponents.

Perreault is currently tied for second in Division I in assists with 20, which leads Hockey East, and is tied for seventh nationally in points per game with 1.33, good for second in the league. The sophomore has recorded a point in 17 of BC's 21 games this season, including nine multi-point performances.

The initial list will be trimmed down to the Top 10 in March. The winner will be announced during the Frozen Four in April.
