
Women's Basketball Falls to Duke

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball suffered an 86-59 setback to No. 14/15 Duke on Thursday evening in Conte Forum.Â
The Eagles are 10-6 and 1-2 in the ACC, while the Blue Devils are 11-5 and 2-0 in league action.Â
Dontavia Waggoner led the Eagles with a season-high 20 points on seven baskets with five rebounds and a pair of swipes.Â
BC trailed 12-4 early in the contest before slicing the gap to three on multiple occasions. Waggoner led the charge scoring nine of the Eagles' first 11 points in the contest. Duke went into the second quarter with a 23-17 advantage.Â
The second period set the tone for the rest of the game, as BC struggled from the field, leading to the Blue Devils extending their lead to double digits going into the break.Â
Duke controlled the game the rest of the way, earning a second straight win in the series.Â
BC returns to action on Sunday to start a three-game road trip against No. 22/19 NC State in Raleigh at 2 p.m.Â
