Eagles Win Fifth Straight Game, Improve to 7-2
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 12 Eagles (7-2, 2-0 ACC) defeated the No. 13 Cardinals (5-4, 1-1 ACC) by a score of 1-0 on Saturday morning in Louisville.
Eight minutes into the first quarter, Mia Garber found the back of the net for the lone goal of the game off of a slick reverse stick shot from the left side of the circle. Both teams would trade chances throughout the remainder of the game, with each team being awarded four penalty corners. Charlotte Kramer stood tall in net for the Eagles, making four saves and recording her first shutout of the season. The Eagles had the edge in shots (12-9), with both teams recording four shots on goal.
Up next: The Eagles are back in action next Friday at 4:30 p.m. as they host No. 3 Virginia in the annual Morgan's Message game.
