Eagles Travel to Duke and UNC for ACC Opening Weekend

Boston College kicks off conference play in North Carolina
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- The Boston College volleyball team (7-5, 0-0 ACC) is set to begin conference play this weekend traveling to take on Duke (4-7, 0-0 ACC) on Friday, Sept. 27 at 4:00 p.m. and North Carolina (8-1, 0-0 ACC) on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1:00 p.m. Both matches will be featured on the ACC Network Extra.
The Eagles wrapped up its non conference slate with a 7-5 overall record, most recently defeating North Florida at the LSU invitational, while falling to LSU and San Diego. In the Eagles victory over UNF Halle Schroder earned her fifth double-double of the season. She tallied 22 kills on 47 total attacks, adding 12 digs and three service aces. Â
Over the three matches Schroder averaged 4.73 kills per set. Audrey Ross followed with 28 kills over the weekend, adding nine blocks. Julia Haggerty led the defense with 19 blocks, averaging 1.90 blocks per set. Morgan Riddle led the back row with 44 digs and two service aces.Â
The Eagles meet the Blue Devils to open conference play after last meeting them in the Margot Connell Rec Center last season, BC claimed the match in five sets. Haggerty led the offensive effort with nine kills while Sophia Lambros added four aces. Haggerty headed the defensive effort adding a career-high 11 blocks.
In the Eagles' next match, the Eagles last faced the Rams in 2023 falling in three sets in Chestnut Hill. Halle Schroder put up a team best six kills, while Cornelia Roach had a team best four blocks. Haggerty put up three kills from eight attempts for a team high .357 hitting percentage.Â
Following the ACC opening weekend the Eagles return back to Chestnut Hill after a month on the road for their first home conference matches of the season, hosting Pitt (Fri. Oct. 4, 7:00 PM) and SMU (Sun. Oct. 6, 1:00 PM).
