Boston College faces Jacksonville, Georgia, and Utah Valley
ATHENS, Ga.-- Boston College volleyball fly South to the Classic City Clash to face Jacksonville, Georgia, and Utah Valley in Athens, Ga. The Eagles kick-off the weekend facing Jacksonville at 10:30 a.m. then closing out Friday night against Georgia at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles finish off the weekend facing Utah Valley at 12:30 on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Boston College opened the 2024 season on a 6-1 record, falling to Binghamton in five sets this past weekend at the Fairfield Invitational. The Eagles also faced Fairfield and Central Connecticut State over the weekend defeating both teams in three sets.
Sophomore Halle Schroder and senior Julia Haggerty were named to the Fairfield Invitational All-Tournament team. Schroder averaged 4.00 kills per set adding on four service aces totaling 41.5 points for the Eagles. Haggerty added 18 kills and a team high of 16 blocks averaging 2.00 blocks per set.
Jacksonville and Georgia opened the 2024 season 3-3. Last weekend the Dolphins traveled to the FAMU Tournament defeating New Orleans and Southern University falling to Florida A&M.
Georgia traveled to Colorado for the Buffs Classic taking all three matches to five sets, defeating Fresno State while falling to Colorado and Washington.
Utah Valley began the season with a 5-1 record, falling to Montana on the road in four sets. This weekend marks the first program meeting of the Eagles and Wolverines.
The Eagles continue on the road following the Classic City Clash, at the LSU Invitational. Boston College is set to face North Florida, LSU and San Diego.
