John West Earns Third-Team All-ACC Honors

West becomes third BC starting pitcher since 2021 to earn distinction
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Boston College starting pitcher John West earned Third-Team All-ACC Honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Starting 14 games for the Eagles, and striking out a team-high 66 batters in 78 innings pitched, West carried the pitching staff every time he went out. In conference play, West ranks top-20 in the ACC in ERA and strikeouts, and top-five in starts, innings pitched, and home runs per game.
West logged multiple strikeouts in all 14 of his starts this season, including a season-high seven strikeouts in his final start against No. 4 Clemson, fanning seven over six innings. West struck out five or more in eight of his starts.
Excluding the shortened 2020 season, this marks the sixth straight year at least one Eagle has earned All-ACC honors, and the second straight year for a BC starting pitcher. West joins Chris Flynn, who earned second-team in 2023, and Emmet Sheehan, named second-team in 2021, as the third starting pitcher in four years to earn the distinction.
Per theACC.com — ACC season honors were determined by a vote of the league's 14 head coaches. The coaches also selected the All-ACC team announced on Monday afternoon.
