Eagles Drop Game One to No. 14 FSU

Cameron Leary moves up home run leaderboard with 38th career blast
BRIGHTON, Mass. — Boston College Baseball (16-12, 5-8) dropped game one of their weekend series, 12-4 to No. 14 Florida State (25-4, 6-4) on Friday afternoon.
Michael Farinelli (New York, N.Y.) got the Friday start for Boston College and struck out three over 4.2 innings, with four runs issued, one being earned.
Cameron Leary (Bethpage, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the third inning, putting the Eagles up 3-0 on a three-run shot to left field. Leary's tenth home run of the season marked the 38th of his BC career, giving Leary sole possession of second-most home runs in program history, passing Mickey Wiswall's 37 from 2008-10. Sean McGowan holds the record with 53 career home runs (1996-99).
The Seminoles answered with a four-run fifth inning and a five-run sixth inning. Nick Wang (Newton, Mass.) added another for the Eagles in the eighth, driving in Leary on an RBI double to the wall.
Evan Moore (Rocky Hill, Conn.) was charged with the loss (1-1). Beck Milner (Park City, Ut.) provided a perfect inning of relief in the eighth with a strikeout. Jamie Arnold earned the win for the Seminoles.
Game two of the weekend series is scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m.
