
Track and Field Earns Seven First Place Finishes Over the Weekend

BC Track and Field competes at the Virginia Challenge and the Sean Collier Invitational over Apr. 19-20
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the Virginia Challenge and the Sean Collier Invitational over the weekend of Apr. 19-20, while earning seven first place finishes.
Virginia Challenge
The Eagles traveled down to Charlottesville, Va. to compete at the Virginia Challenge on Apr. 19 at Lannigan Field on the campus of the University of Virginia. The Virginia Challenge is one of the top meets in the country, featuring top athletes and schools from across the country.
Boston College had four athletes competing at the meet in the Women's 1500m on Friday night. Lily Flynn and Sarah Flynn competed in the Women's 1500, while Marie Bilo and Aoife Dunne took part in the Women's 1500m Invitational.
The Eagles started the meet off strongly with Lily Flynn placing third overall with a time of 4:23.21, and Sarah Flynn (4:24.55) finishing fifth.
Marie Bilo and Aoife Dunne carried the momentum, placing second and third respectively. Bilo finished with a time of 4:15.01, which puts her third all-time in school history for the 1500m. Dunne now sits at fourth all-time with her time of 4:16.32.

Sean Collier Invitational
The Eagles wrapped up the weekend by competing at the Sean Collier Invitational on Friday, Apr. 19 and Saturday, Apr. 20 in Cambridge, Mass. on the campus of MIT.
Boston College competed in five events on Friday night, while competing in 16 events throughout Saturday.
Aidan Brancaccio (9:24.44) started the meet off for the Eagles on Friday night with a top-three placement in the Men's 3000m Steeplechase.
Four Eagles placed in the top-10 in the Men's 500m. Will Purnell (14:25.78) placed third overall, while Sam Ellis (14:28.02) finished fourth, Eero Helenius (14:50.83) finished ninth, and Nick Loffredo (14:54.40) rounded out the finishers in 10th. Molly FitzPatrick (16:55.77) and Ellie Buckley (16:58.11) placed fourth and seventh respectively in the Women's 500m.
The Women's 4x100m relay team of Anna Becker, Kyla Palmer, Sophia Schwartz, and Anna Sonsini earned the top spot with their time of 47.78.
Three Eagles placed in the top-five in the 400m on the Men's and Women's side. Stephen Colleran finished second overall with his time of 48.84, while Anna Becker (56.47) placed first overall and Kyla Palmer (56.92) placed fourth.
Anna Sonsini earned a first place finish in the Women's 100m run with a time of 12.03, as well as a first place finish in the Women's 200m. Cruz Brown, Patrick Mulryan, and Owen Pett all earned top-10 placements in the Men's 800m. Brown (1:49.97) placed first overall, while Mulryan (1:50.68) placed third and Pett (1:52.25) placed ninth.
Gabriella Bachiochi took home the top spot in the Women's 800m with her time of 2:14.81. Ella Jackson crossed the line at 2:17.57, earning her sixth place.
Yaroslava Yalysovetska finished second overall in the Women's 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:00.73.
Three Eagles competed in field events on Saturday. Erin Finley placed sixth in the Women's Long Jump with a mark of 4.88m, while Morgan Champi also placed sixth in the Women's Hammer Throw with her mark of 45.35m. Olivia Raia was the lone Eagle in the Women's Javelin, placing eighth overall with a mark of 31.09m
