Adam Magpoc logged his third home run of the season in game two
In game one on Friday night, the Fighting Irish put up nine runs over the first two frames and won 14-3 in seven innings. On the offensive side, Beck Milner (Park City, Ut.) went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. The Eagles picked up runs on RBIs from Adam Magpoc (Torrance, Ca.), Sam McNulty (Cambridge, Mass.) and Barry Walsh (Sterling, Mass.). Michael Farinelli was tagged with the loss (0-4).
The Eagles struck first in game two, led off by consecutive base hits from Adam Magpoc and Cameron Leary (Bethpage, N.Y.), with Magpoc coming around to score on a RBI groundout from Kyle Wolff (Andover, Mass.). In the top of the third, Mapgoc continued his strong weekend with his third home run of the season, driving a solo shot deep over the right-field fence.
The Fighting Irish struck for four runs in the first, two in the third, and another three in the fifth to build a 9-3 lead. Boston College got one back in the seventh, with Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) driving a leadoff triple to the center-field wall and coming around to score on an RBI groundout from Magpoc.
The score held at 9-4. John West was issued the loss (1-2) with Jack Radel picking up the win (3-2) for Notre Dame.
The Eagles will look to avoid the sweep in game three on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
