Road trip continues with UNC Wilmington mid-week and NC State weekend series
Matthew Nunan (Egg Harbor, N.J.)Â started for the Eagles and turned in three strong frames of work, striking out one and allowing just two hits in three one-run innings.
Nick Wang (Newton, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Cameron Leary (Bethpage, N.Y.) doubled as well, and Austin Hartsell (Bridgewater, Mass.) picked up his first collegiate hit in his first career at-bat.
Stephen McLendon (Nashua, N.H) was issued the loss (0-1). Brian Curley earned the win for VCU (1-0), throwing three scoreless innings in relief with five strikeouts.
The Eagles road trip continues with a mid-week matchup at UNC Wilmington this Tuesday at 6:00.
