
Six Eagles Named ILWomen.com Midseason All-American

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Six Boston College lacrosse players were recognized by ILWomen.com as midseason All-Americans.Â
Sydney Scales was named to the first team, while Rachel Clark made the second-team list. Mckenna Davis and Becky Browndorf were named all-third team members, and Belle Smith and Cassidy Weeks made honorable mention.Â
Scales is having another solid season, leading the team with 15 caused turnovers on top of 12 ground balls. The Walpole, Mass. native has at least one caused turnover in seven of her eight appearances, including three games with at least three.Â
Clark's first season has been stellar, where she has a team-best 44 goals along with seven assists and a team-high 51 points. Clark is second in the ACC and fifth in the country in goals, while she is first in goals per game (4.40) in the league and fourth in the nation. The Devon, Pa., native has a hat trick in all 10 of her appearances, while she has four games with at least five goals. Clark is on the Tewaaraton Watch List and was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season.Â
Davis has followed up her breakout sophomore season with another solid season. She has a team-high 38 assists with 10 goals for 48 points. Davis is second in the ACC and third in the nation in assists, while she is seventh in the league in points with 48. The attacker has six games with at least five points, while she's turned in four games with at least five helpers. Davis is on the Tewaaraton Watch List as well.Â
Browndorf is third on the team with 11 caused turnovers and 15 ground balls. The Dresher, Pa. native has a caused turnover in seven games and is coming off a season-high four ground balls in the 18-3 win over Duke last Saturday. She was named a preseason All-American coming into the season.Â
Smith has done it all for the Eagles, tallying 20 goals and 11 assists for 31 points. She also has 26 draw controls, 13 ground balls, and eight caused turnovers. The Tewaaraton Watch List nominee is fourth on the team in goals, tied for second in assists, fourth in ground balls, and draw controls. She has six games with at least three points, while she is three points away from moving into fifth all-time in school history in points.Â
Weeks has 21 goals and four assists for 25 points. The two-way middie is second on the team with 30 draw controls, fourth in goals, sixth in points, and has 11 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. She has started in 85 straight games dating back to the 2022 season and is well on her way to setting career highs in goals and draw controls. Weeks was a preseason All-American and Tewaaraton Watch List nominee.
BC returns to action on Saturday to face No. 13 North Carolina in the Pink Game at 12 p.m. inside Alumni Stadium.Â
