- Lewis Bond and Jerand Bradley were each featured prominently in the passing game with multiple completions from Thomas Castellanos in the first team period.
- The defensive line was smothering in run stopping opportunities with Donovan Ezeiruaku, who later added a sack, with a tackle for loss.
- On third-and-11, Castellanos found Bond for a short catch-and-run that was converted into a first-and-goal. That play set up a bootleg throw from Castellanos to running back Jordan McDonald for a touchdown.
- Twice, the defense popped the ball out of the receiver's hands immediately after a catch. The first was a forced fumble by defensive end Quintayvious Hutchins and the second was grabbed for an interception by linebacker Owen McGowan.
- Grayson James completed a throw over the corner to Bradley down the sideline for a 40-yard gain.
- Jacobe Robinson hit Dino Tomlin on a 20-yard out route.
- Safety Bugg Jones hauled in yet another interception.
