Defense has a day as BC nears midway point of spring ball.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College football held its sixth practice of spring ball inside Fish Field House on Thursday morning. The Eagles, who wore full pads the previous two sessions, were in uppers. The defensive effort was on full display with several forced fumbles and a ballhawking secondary.

- Deep completions from Thomas Castellanos to wide receiver Jaedn Skeete and tight end Jeremiah Franklin were the biggest plays in the first team period.
- Alex Broome diced through the defense for a deep run.
- Rising sophomore safety K.P. Price impressed in the secondary with several PBUs and close coverages on passes directed his way.
- In a live period, linebacker Daveon Crouch met Broome in the gap for a big stop.
- Safety Bugg Jones recorded two interceptions on the day.
- The defense turned away three consecutive third-and-goal scenarios from the five-yard line in the final team period. In the second such play, redshirt freshman nickelback Khalil Ali tackled the running back, pass-catcher for a loss in the flat.
- Defensive end Quintayvious Hutchins showed off his high motor yet again, producing a sack.
