The 7-foot standout was named to the 2023-24 All-ACC Second and All-Defensive Teams
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Quinten Post earned a pair of ACC postseason honors, it was announced live this afternoon on ACC PM on the ACC Network. Post was named to both the 2023-24 All-ACC Second Team and the league's All-Defensive team.
The standout from Amsterdam is the only major conference player in the nation to average 16.6 points, 7.9 boards, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game. The last ACC player to post that season stat line: Wake Forest's Tim Duncan in 1996-97. The elite 7-footer is one of two players to rank among the top 10 in the ACC in scoring, rebounding, blocks, and field goal percentage this season. This season, Post leads BC in scoring, rebounding, blocks, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, 3-point percentage and is second in assists and steals.
Post is one of only three players nationally to register a 50/40/80 line of percentages this season - at 51.5 FG%, 43.6 3FG%, and 80.7 FT%. Since arriving at BC in 2021-22, Post has registered nearly a 50/40/80 shooting line - .517 FG; .417 3FG; .793 FT - while averaging 13.4 points per game in 80 contests. He is the only active player (min. 10.0 ppg) to post such shooting lines since the start of the 2021-22 season.
Defensively, Post has established himself as one of the top rim protectors in the country. He ranks second in the ACC - and 46th nationally - averaging 1.8 blocked shots per game. Post's 54 total blocks are second-most in the ACC and ranks as the seventh-highest single season total in BC history. His block percentage - calculated as total blocks/opponent FGA - of 6.3% ranks 105th in the country.
This marks the second consecutive year that Post has been honored by the ACC. Last year, he was named the conference's Most Improved Player while also earning honorable mention all-league accolades. Post is the first Boston College player to earn All-ACC Second Team honors since Ky Bowman in 2018-19. He also becomes the third Eagle to be recognized as part of the All-ACC Defensive team, joining Tyrelle Blair in 2007-08 and Steffon Mitchell in 2019-20.
