
BC Drops Road Contest to Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. - Boston College women's basketball suffered a 65-55 loss to Clemson on Thursday evening in Littlejohn Coliseum.
The Eagles fall to 11-12 and 3-7 in ACC play, while Clemson improves to 10-12 and 3-7 in the league.Â
Teya Sidberry scored 13 points to lead four Eagles in double figures while grabbing seven rebounds. Dontavia Waggoner shot 5-of-7 for 12 points with seven off the glass and four steals.Â
Andrea Daley and T'yana Todd scored 10 to round out the leading scorers.Â
The Eagles started the first 3:05 on a 7-2 run after a Sidberry three-point play. Clemson answered by hitting nine of its next 12 shots, a stretch that went into the second period to give the Tigers a 28-15 lead.Â
BC found its stride on offense to close out the half, as it sliced the gap to four going into the break. All five starters hit at least one field goal during a 6-of-7 stretch, capping off a 15-6 run to make the score, 34-30.Â
Back-to-back layups from Sidberry and Daley in the third brought BC to one possession. But the Tigers stretched their lead back to double digits and eventually went into the fourth with a 48-41 advantage.Â
The Eagles did come back to within six with 2:01 left in the game, but Clemson pulled away for the win.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday at Noon to face No. 21/23 Syracuse inside Conte Forum for the annual Play4Kay Pink Game.Â
