
Eagles Dominate Non-Conference Finale in Win Over CCSU

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball downed Central Connecticut State with an 83-56 win in the non-conference finale inside Conte Forum on Friday afternoon.Â
The Eagles head into the break with a 10-4 mark and a four-game win streak, while the Devils fall to 1-12.Â
Dontavia Waggoner netted a team and season-high 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting with seven rebounds (five offensive). Waggoner became the 32nd player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark.Â
Savannah Samuel continued her solid play off the bench, totaling a career-high 16 points, and hitting three of her six shots outside the arc. T'yana Todd totaled 10 points, while Teya Sidberry pulled down 10 off the glass.Â
Greene in the second quarter spearheaded a 9-0 run late in the Eagles, stretching the lead to 36-18, and later went into the half with an 18-point lead.
The Eagles led comfortably the rest of the way, capturing their largest lead of 34 in the fourth quarter en route to a fifth straight win in the series.Â
BC scored 26 points off turnovers and 33 from its bench and shot 13-of-14 from the field. The Eagles held CCSU to under 40 percent shooting from the field and forced 21 turnovers.Â
Ten of 11 players who saw action recorded an assist, leading to 22 helpers on 29 field goals. Kaylah Ivey and Athena Tomlinson led the charge with four apiece.
The Eagles return to action on Dec. 29 against Louisville at 2 p.m. inside Conte Forum.Â
