No. 2 Eagles Open Up Hockey East Play Against No. 5 Maine

BC opens league play with a top-five matchup
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Second-ranked Boston College welcomes No. 5 Maine to Kelley Rink this weekend on Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. for the Eagles' first Hockey East games of the 2024-25 season. Both games will be available to stream on ESPN+ with Friday's game also available regionally on NESN. Radio coverage on WEEI 850 AM for both games will begin 15 minutes prior to puck drop.

SETTING THE SCENE
• The Eagles improved to 5-1-0 after a two-game sweep over No. 10 St. Cloud State this past weekend
• Maine is 6-0-1 overall and is coming off a weekend sweep of Merrimack in Hockey East play

WEEKEND SWEEP
• The Eagles traveled out to Minnesota this past weekend, picking up 4-1 and 2-1 victories over No. 10 St. Cloud State for a weekend sweep
• Gabe Perreault tallied two goals in the Friday victory with a power-play goal and an empty net goal
• Will Vote scored the opening goal, while Teddy Stiga registered the Eagles' first short-handed goal of the campaign
• BC's 2-1 triumph on Saturday was its second come-from-behind win of the season
• Eamon Powell scored the game-tying goal in the second period before Perreault scored the game-winning goal in the third
• James Hagens finished the weekend with four assists, two in each game
• Jacob Fowler made 44 saves over the course of the two games to pick up both wins
