
A Three Goal Third Period Lifts BC Past Northeastern

BC defeated No. 15 Northeastern 3-0
BOSTON – The No. 11 Boston College Women's Hockey team defeated No. 15 Northeastern 3-0 on Saturday evening at Matthews Arena.
The Eagles and Huskies traded chances in the first period. Northeastern had an early power-play opportunity that they could not capitalize on. The two sides skated to a 0-0 tie after the first 20 minutes.
Neither side could break the tie in the second period, entering the final period tied at 0-0.
The Eagles had a three-goal third period to lift BC over No. 15 Northeastern. Olivia Maffeo scored the first goal for BC, this was Maffeo's first career goal. Abby Newhook got BC's second goal of the night on a power-play. This marks Newhook's 100th career point. In the final two minutes, Sammy Taber taps in an empty net goal for the 3-0 victory.
