Northeast Conference Championships Up Next for the Eagles

The Eagles are set to compete at the Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday in Providence.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Boston College Men's and Women's Fencing teams are set to compete at the Northeast Fencing Conference Championships, which will be held on the campus of Brown University on Saturday and Sunday.Â
Last Time Out
The Boston College Fencing team competed at the 2024 Beanpot on Wednesday night at the Margot Connell Recreation Center.Â
On the Men's side, Boston College finished the night with a 2-1 overall record, defeating Brandeis 15-12 in round 1 and MIT 14-13 in round 3. They fell to Harvard 10-17 in round 2.Â
Men's Epee led the way throughout the night, compiling a perfect 3-0 record overall. Men's Sabre and Foil both finished 1-2.Â
On the Women's side, the Eagles completed the night with a 2-1 overall record. Boston College defeated Brandeis 19-8 in round 1 and MIT 19-8 in round 3, while falling to Harvard 12-15 in round 2.Â
The Eagles swept all three weapons on the Women's side against Brandeis and MIT, including two 8-1 wins by Women's foil. Women's Foil finished a perfect 3-0 on the night, while Women's Sabre and Epee both earned 2-1 records. Â
The Northeast Fencing Conference ChampionshipsÂ
The conference championship meet will be held over the span of Saturday, Nov. 23 to Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Olney-Margolies Athletic Center on the campus of Brown University.Â
The meet is scheduled to begin each day at 10 a.m., and there will be a total of 12 rounds throughout the two-day event.Â
The Women's team will compete in 11 of 12 rounds, and will have a bye in round 9. The Men's team will begin action in round 3 and will compete in 7 of 12 rounds after having a bye in rounds 1, 2, 8, 9, and 10. Â
Quote from Coach Brendan Doris-Pierce: "We're excited to compete in the NFCs this weekend. The strength of the conference has grown considerably over the past half decade or so and the rivalries that took shape 32 years ago when the conference was founded are just as passionate as ever. Last year, we lost the combined title for the first time in six seasons and the team is motivated to regain it."
