The Northeast Regional Championship meet is set to take place at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds Cross Country Course in Hopkinton, N.H. on Friday, Nov. 15. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the Women's 6k race, followed by the Men's 10k competition at 12 p.m.
Women's Cross Country will look to punch their ticket to the NCAA Cross Country Championship for the second year in a row and third time since 2019. If the Eagles qualify, it would be the school's 21st time qualifying, which is second most all-time of all ACC schools.
The regional meet is highlighted by three teams each in the Men's and Women's USTFCCCA week 5 top-30 national coaches' polls. On the Men's side, Syracuse sits at No. 17, Harvard is No. 20, and Iona is No. 29. BC's Men's team currently sits at No. 12 in the regional poll. The Women's side features No. 11 Providence, No. 25 Boston College, and No. 28 Syracuse. Boston College moved up to No. 2 in the most recent Women's northeast regional poll.Â
The top-two teams in each regional secure automatic bids to the championship, while the first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team also secure an auto-bid to the championships. If a team doesn't secure an automatic bid, it will have to wait on the NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee to select them as one of the 13 at-large teams.
