
Ezeiruaku a Walter Camp Award Semifinalist

National Player of the Year candidate among top sack artists in FBS.
New Haven, Conn. – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced Boston College senior defensive back Donovan Ezeiruaku as one of 20 semifinalists for its 2024 Player of the Year award, the fourth-oldest college football award in the nation. The semifinalist lists includes eight quarterbacks, seven defensive players, two running backs, two wide receiver/tight ends and one two-way player.
The Walter Camp Player of the Year will be voted on by the 134 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors later this month. Three finalists will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and the 58th recipient of the Walter Camp Player of Year award will be announced on the ESPN College Football Awards Show on Thursday, December 12.
Ezeiruaku leads the BC defense with 58 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss and 10.0 sacks. He ranks second in the ACC in both TFLs and sacks as well as being fourth in FBS in sacks and ninth in TFLs. He has added two forced fumbles and a team-high eight quarterback hurries. For his career, Ezeiruaku ranks third all-time at BC in sacks at 23.5.
Ezeiruaku is also a semifinalist for the Bednarik and Lombardi Awards.
