GAME NOTES
FIRST-AND-10
» Boston College plays its final road game of the regular season when it visits SMU at Gerald J. Ford Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Nov. 16.
» The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. BC alum Bob Wischusen ’93 (play-by-play) and Louis Riddick (analyst) are on the call with sideline reporter Kris Budden.
» Coverage on the Boston College Sports Network begins 30 minutes prior to kickoff on WEEI 93.7 FM. Jon Meterparel (play-by-play) is joined on the call by former BC linebacker Pete Cronan in the booth and quarterback Scott Mutryn on the sideline.
» BC is 8-5 all-time on Nov. 16; most recently lost at Pitt (2023).
» The all-time series is even at a game apiece. SMU won the initial match-up, 31-29, at home in 1986.
» Boston College defeated No. 17/24 SMU in the 2023 Wasabi Fenway Bowl just 11 months ago, led by two fourth-quarter touchdown runs from quarterback Thomas Castellanos.
» This season marks SMU’s first in the ACC along with Cal and Stanford. In the current league scheduling format, which runs through 2030, the Eagles and Mustangs play four times with a re-match in Chestnut Hill in 2025, another game in Dallas in 2026 and finally a home date for BC in 2029.
» Defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku is tied for fifth in the country in total sacks at 9.0, which ranks second in the ACC. His 12.0 TFLs are also tied for ninth in FBS, but he is sixth with 1.5 per game.
» Kye Robichaux was named the ACC Running Back of the Week after a 198-yard game; the third highest total in the ACC this year.
» The Eagles are one win away from achieving bowl eligibility for back-to-back seasons and eighth time in nine years.
