
Women's Basketball Rolls Past Northeastern

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball rolled to a 92-46 victory over Northeastern on Monday afternoon in Conte Forum.
The Eagles improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2020-21 season and winning an 11th straight game in the series against Northeastern. The Huskies fall to 0-3.Â
It was another balanced scoring effort on offense, where four players scored in double figures and nine tallied at least five. BC assisted on 24 of its 35 field goals, while turning the ball over just 10 times in the contest.
Dontavia Waggoner paced the offense with 16 points on 60 percent shooting, while Tatum Greene netted a personal-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor. The freshman wing stuffed the stat sheet with six boards, two blocks and four steals, which are all personal bests. Kennedi Jackson scored 11 off the bench with four rebounds and a pair of assists.Â
Teya Sidberry led the way on the glass, corralling a season-high 10 boards with seven points. Kaylah Ivey led the offense with a season-best 11 assists and zero miscues in 22 minutes.Â
Boston College wasted no time in getting off to a fast start, jumping out to a 14-2 lead in the first 4:44 of the game. The Eagles went into the second with a 22-8 lead after limiting Northeastern to just 3-of-12 from the field and scored 10 of its points off turnovers.Â
The Eagles were in control throughout the contest in the wire-to-wire win, cruising to the eventual 46-point victory in the final frame. BCÂ held a 52-20 advantage in points in the paint and scored 31 points off turnovers and 32 second-chance points off 20 offensive rebounds.
In addition, the bench produced 44 points thanks to 16-of-27 shooting. Nene Ndiaye recorded nine points and Athena Tomlinson chipped in with seven.
BC returns to action on Thursday to face Harvard on the road in a 7 p.m. showdown.
