BC Drops ACC Contest to Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Boston College men's soccer suffered a 2-0 defeat in ACC play on Saturday night to Wake Forest at Spry Stadium. Goalkeeper Brennan Klein made a career-high 11 saves over the 90 minutes.

BC drops to 3-3-5 overall with a 0-3-2 league record while Wake Forest is now 5-3-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the ACC.

The Demon Deacons opened the scoring just prior to halftime with a goal in the 43rd minute through Ryan Belal. Sidney Paris scored in the 67th minute to push Wake Forest's lead to two.

Ask Ekeland nearly got the Eagles on the board in the first half but his attempt from distance was saved by Trace Alphin and pushed off the crossbar.

Xavier O'Neil had a great look at goal early in the second half after receiving a pass inside the box, but his close-range effort was saved by Alphin.

BC returns home for an ACC matchup against Virginia on Friday, Oct. 11. The Eagles then have a quick turnaround with a match against Suffolk on Monday the 14th. Both games will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
