BC turns attention to regular season finale against Syracuse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - No. 9 Boston College field hockey (11-5, 5-2 ACC) was defeated by the No. 2 Tar Heels of the University of North Carolina (14 by a score of 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Tar Heels scored their first goal as time expired in the first quarter, as Kelly Smith got redirected a shot into the back of the net. Ryleigh Heck would get her 11th of the season in the second quarter, while Jasmina Smolenaars and Sanne Heck each added one in the fourth.
UNC had the edge in shots (26-6), shots on goal (16-5), and penalty corners (11-2). Charlotte Kramer recorded a season-high 12 saves, with four saves coming in each quarter in the second half.Â
Up next: The Eagles are on the road next weekend as they take on Syracuse University (12-4, 4-3 ACC) in the final game of the regular season.
