Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Mass.) scored moments later, firing home a shot on a breakaway after Oskar Jellvik (Täby, Sweden) played a long pass from the BC defensive zone.
Lukas Gustafsson (Atlanta, Ga.) scored in the second period with BC's first power play goal of the season, but the Michigan State offense tallied three of their own to put the Eagles behind 4-3 going into the final frame.
