Eagle Prepare for First Game of 2024
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – The Boston College women's hockey team hit the road as they prepare to take on Maine for the first Hockey East match-up of 2024.
The Eagles and Black Bears are scheduled for a 2 p.m. puck drop on Saturday, Jan. 6. Saturday's conference clash will air live on ESPN+.

- Boston College and Maine will meet for the final game in the three-game Hockey East series.
- The Eagles look to remain in control of the top spot in the Hockey East Standings, where they currently sit tied with UConn with 28 points.
- The two sides met earlier this season for a two-game series at Kelley Rink, with the two sides splitting the two games. Maine took the first game; the Eagles were able to rally back and take the final game.
ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
- To start the second half of the season, the Eagles surged past Saint Anslem 5-1. Sammy Taber led the Eagles in point with four; she scored twice on six shots and dished out two assists.
- Boston College has been in the top 15 in the USCHO and USA Hockey poll for the past seven weeks. They are currently ranked 13th in the USCHO poll and 14th in the USA Today poll.
- Sammy Taber leads the Eagles in points; through 19 games, Taber has recorded 19 points. She has scored four times and dished out 15 assists. She was also named Hockey East Rookie of the Month for the second consecutive month.
- Kari Clougherty leads the team in blocks; she has accumulated 30 blocks over the season. Molly Jordan is just a little behind; she has blocked 21 shots this season.
SCOUTING MAINE
- Maine currently sits tied for sixth in Hockey East with Boston University.
- Through the first half of the season, the Black Bears have found the back of the net 33 times while giving up 28 goals.
- The Graduate Student Ida Kuoppala is Maine's points and goals leader. She has found the back of the net 15 times and has dished out 11 assists this season.
- Freshman Julia Bachetti has seen the most action in net this year. Bachetti has a save percentage of 91.1% and a goals-allowed average of 2.74.
