
Eagles Fall on the Road to No. 18/16 Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Boston College women's basketball fell to No. 18/16 Louisville on Thursday evening, 88-60, in the KFC Yum! Center.Â
The Eagles are 11-10 with a 3-5 record in the ACC, while the Cardinals move to 17-3 and 6-1 in the league.Â
Teya Sidberry led four Eagles in double figures with 12 points and grabbed five boards. Dontavia Waggoner netted 11 on 5-of-6 shooting with five off the glass and two steals. T'yana Todd also recorded 11, and Nene Ndiaye scored a personal-high 10 points with five rebounds.Â
The Eagles trailed 10-4 early in the first period before a pair of 3-pointers from Sidberry and Kaylah Ivey aided in a 6-2 spurt to dwindle the gap to one possession. After Louisville responded by going up 17-10, a Todd 3-pointer brought the Eagles to four. The hosts went into the second with an 18-13 lead.Â
BC stayed within striking distance in the second quarter, coming within one point on multiple occasions. Following a Ndiaye layup to bring the score to 27-26, the hosts ended the final 4:23 on a 12-5 run to go into the half with an eight-point advantage. Ndiaye led the Eagles in scoring off the bench, tying her high with nine points.Â
Sidberry started the second half with a layup to bring the deficit to six, but Louisville pushed its lead to double digits by hitting six of its next seven shots. UofL shot over 60 percent in the second half to pull away for the win.Â
The Eagles return to action on Sunday against No. 7 NC State at 2 p.m. inside Conte Forum.Â
