
Women's Basketball Suffers Setback to No. 7 NC State

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball fell to No. 7 NC State 82-61 on Sunday afternoon in Conte Forum.Â
The Eagles move to 11-11 and 3-6 in the ACC, while the Wolfpack moves to 18-2 and 6-2 in the league.Â
Teya Sidberry battled her way to a team-high 18 points and eight rebounds, while hitting three of her six field goals from beyond the arc. The sophomore forward also led the way with three steals.Â
Andrea Daley shot 5-of-6 en route to 13 points with six off the glass. Waggoner scored 13 as well with five boards and a pair of swipes. T'yana Todd dropped 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. Kaylah Ivey netted a team-best six helpers.Â
It was a back-and-forth affair in the early goings of the contest with neither team leading by more than three. Back-to-back field goals from Todd while the Eagles trailed 10-7 gave BC the lead midway through the first.Â
NC State went into the second period with a 16-13 edge after Saniya Rivers' layup with six seconds left.Â
The Wolfpack gained separation in the second frame, as it made eight straight field goals at one point to push its lead to double digits going into the break, 42-26.Â
The visitors held onto its double-digit lead despite BC going on a 6-of-7 stretch early in the third quarter.Â
BC sliced the deficit in the fourth to 11 after the Eagles made four straight shots, highlighted by three trifectas. However, the Wolfpack pulled away for the win, keeping the Eagles at bay.Â
The Eagles return to action on Thursday for a road contest against Clemson at 7 p.m.
