BC Sweeps LIU

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.- Boston College volleyball defeated Long Island University in three clean sets, 25-12, 25-13, and 25-16, on Thursday night at Iona University.Â
The Eagles were led by senior Katrina Jensen with 14 kills, hitting .458, and adding three blocks. Senior Sophia Lambros had her first double-double of the season with a team-high 18 assists and leading the team with 14 digs, while also finishing with three service aces. Junior Julia Haggerty added five kills and six blocks, while freshman Halle Schroder finished with eight kills, 13 digs, and three blocks.  Â
The first set was close early, before BC took a commanding lead with a dominant 7-0 run. The Eagles finished the first set with two service aces and four blocks en route to a 25-12 win.
The Eagles started fast in the second set, jumping up to a 6-1 lead and leading the entire way. BC went on multiple 4-0 runs, to cruise to a 25-13 win in the set.Â
The third set was the closest of the match. As BC went on a 4-0 run to start the match the Sharks were able to get within striking distance at 22-16. The Eagles were able to finish off the match with freshman Audrey Ross putting the final ace to the floor.Â
The Eagles return tomorrow night, against Iona University at 7 p.m.
