Eagles Sweep Gaels

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The Boston College volleyball team swept Iona University, 3-0, at the Iona Classic. The Eagles improve to 5-3, while the Gaels dropped to 2-7, BC won in straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-9.
Junior middle blocker Julia Haggerty netted her match-high eight kills on the season, securing the second, and closest, set of the night for the Eagles. Tacking on a team leading .438 attack rate and 4.5 blocks. Senior outside hitter Katrina Jensen led BC with 12 kills plus three digs, while senior Anna Murphy protected the floor with 23 digs.Â
Freshman outside hitter Halle Schroder contributed on both sides of the ball with six digs and nine kills. Senior setter Sophia Lambros dished out 25 assists for the Eagles.Â
The Eagles return to action on Saturday afternoon in New Rochelle, N.Y. to face-off Fordham University at 11 a.m.
